The fund raising, powered by a Non-Governmental Organization, the Ago-Iwoye Great Thinkers Trust Foundation (AIGTT) is expected to tackle the town's infrastructural decadence in the area of health, agriculture, as well as skills acquisitions for the teeming Ijebu youths towards making them contribute meaningfully to the community in the nearest future.
The Catalyst Cable reliably gathered that the event, scheduled to hold this week's Saturday 3rd September, 2022 at WosAm ARENA in the university town of Ago-Iwoye, is a special intervention project of the AIGTT, which is an offshoot of an Ijebu platform called Ago-Iwoye City Development Great Thinkers, created in the year 2016 by some notable sons and daughters of Ago-Iwoye town at home and in the diaspora.
Source within the planning committee of the event disclosed to The Catalyst Cable that the AIGTT's intervention project will channel whatever proceed garnered at the fund raising towards the construction of a multi million naira Specialist Hospital complex that will be equiped with the state-of-the-art medical equipment; acquisition of a 100 acres of land for agriculture practice and construction of well equipped vocational centre for skills acquisition by the youths.
The source further disclosed that the Foundation, under the chairmanship of Major General (Dr.) S.A Awosanya as the Chairman, Board of Trustees, aimed at promoting the greatness of Ago-Iwoye and its citizens in the areas of health, education, economic well being, training and skills acquisition.
The fund raising is however, grossly expected to serve as a convergence center for all sons and daughters of Ago-Iwoye as well as other eminent personalities from all walks of life, who are invited for the occasion.
The Catalyst Cable further gathered that some of the past interventions carried out by AIGTT included: donation of wheel chairs, grinding machines, generators, barbing salon equipment to the physically challenged, facilitation of jobs to qualified applicants, education support to indigent students and medical support to sick people.
The Foundation however, solicited for generous donations from its invited guests, well-wishers, as well as the Indigenous sons and daughters of Ago-Iwoye towards enabling it meet the targeted projects and its timely completion for the good use of the Ago-Iwoye people.
