The igunnuko traditional religious worshippers in Ogun State have vowed to resist all attempts by the state government to coerce them into any registration as Alternative Medicine practicioners.

This is just as the traditionalists also dissociated themselves from the kingship arrangements being planned by one Chief Tajudeen Ajilekege, who goes about town claiming to be the Igunnuko cult's king I'm Ogun State.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after an emergency meeting held in Abeokuta, the state capital, spokesman of the Igunnuko traditional cult in Ogun, Chief Odunayo Osanyintolu expressed disappointment over attempts by the state government to coerce the Igunnuko traditional religious worshippers into an alleged registration as an already alternative medicine practicioners.

Osanyintolu, who is the Sinaba Igunnuko of the state, also called on the state government to arrest and prosecute anyone, who goes about parading him or her as the traditional ruler of Igunnuko religious worship in the state.

He explained that the warning became exigent in order to guide the state government appropriately from mistaking the igunnuko traditional worshippers' activities for alternative medicine business that required to be licensed.

Osanyintolu, who is the Sinaba Igunnuko of Ogun State emphasized that theirs is an ancient religious practice that has being in existence from time immemorial and as such, could be counter-productive for government to be misled by some few "disident members", who want to misadvise government in a bid to form a parallel igunnuko Worshipping union.

Osanyintolu also emphasized that Chief Dauda Adejola led Igunnuko Traditional cult worship in Ogun State remains the only authentic association, with Chief Akeem Kareem Ogunrinde as the Secretary in the state as against the union allegedly led by one 

He maintained that Igunnuko traditional religious worship neither have anything to do with any kingship title, nor alternative medicine practice and as such, government should not be misled.

They however, called in the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration to arrest anybody that goes around parading himself as the oba of the Igunnuko traditional religious worship in the state.
