The Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Campaign Organization has said that bickerings within the Kano State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) forced its Director General, Alhaji Abdulmumin Jibrin to resign his membership of the party and nothing else as being insinuated in some quarters.

Consequently, a source within the Campaign Support Group, a member of the Bola Tinubu campaign organisation maintained that Jibrin's resignation will in no way, affect the preparations and other activities of the organization since it has nothing to do with their principal's presidential aspiration.

The source, who spoke with The Catalyst Cable on condition of anonymity, said the former federal lawmaker’s resignation had nothing to do with Tinubu or Jibrin’s work as DG of the Tinubu  Support Group Management Council.

Jibrin, who represented Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano State in 2015, announced his resignation from the APC on his social media accounts on Saturday.

It would be recalled that Jibrin belonged to a faction of the APC in Kano State, led by former  Governor Ibrahim Shekarau, that lost out at the Supreme Court on Friday to Governor Abdulahi Ganduje’s faction.

The Supreme Court had dismissed the appeal filed by the G-7 faction of the APC led by Shekarau, challenging the ward and local government congresses conducted by the Ganduje faction of the party.

The source however, said Jibrin’s resignation had to do with local issues in Kano APC.

“However, I understand Asiwaju Tinubu is intervening to resolve the matter with the party leadership in Kano.”

Jibrin, who was silent on his next move, also said he would announce developments in due course.

Meanwhile, The Catalyst Cable reliably gathered that the APC national leader and year 2023 presidential hopeful, Tinubu has stepped in to resolve the local political squabbles between Hon. Abdulmunin Jibrin and some key stakeholders in his constituency.

A highly places source in the Kano State politics confided in our correspondent that Tinubu has already reached out to Governor Ganduje to reach a truce and ensure the unity within the Kano State Chapter of the APC is not ruptured.

The source said Asiwaju Tinubu has already intervened on Jibrin’s behalf with Governor Ganduje and everything will be resolved.

“Jibrin is coming to see Asiwaju. Asiwaju has stepped in. Jibrin is having local issues with his constituency and Ganduje. Everything will be sorted,”
